MRPA Foundation Access to Recreation Endowment
Fund Receives $10,000 Anonymous Donation
[Okemos, Mich.] - The Michigan Recreation and Park Association today announced that a $10,000 anonymous donation has been made to the Raymond C. Davis, Sr. Access to Recreation Endowment Fund, which is held by the Capital Area Community Foundation and administered by the MRPA Foundation.
Ray Davis, Sr. loved sports. An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, he was a tireless advocate for youth sports. He also believed in the value of everyone being able to enjoy the outdoors and participate in sports – regardless of ability.
The Raymond C. Davis Access Fund will be used to provide matching grants to support local community efforts to purchase adaptive equipment and to build accessible recreation venues across Michigan. The W.K. Kellogg Foundation has generously agreed to match the first $100,000 raised for the Access Fund, intended to continue the work of the Access to Recreation initiative. In appreciation of a lead gift received from proceeds from the Raymond C. Davis Sr. annual golf outings, the fund was named in his honor.
