WALK MICHIGAN!
Walk Michigan! is a state wide non-competitive program first established in 1985 through a partnership between the Michigan Recreation and Park Association (MRPA) and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM). Walk Michigan! invites people to pursue a healthy lifestyle by walking regularly. Local park and recreation agencies schedule and coordinate group walks. Walks take place in local parks, trails and recreation areas.

Great Goal — the Labor Day Bridge Walk
A trip for 2 (two) to Mackinac Island on Labor Day weekend to walk the Bridge with the Governor and thousands of walking enthusiasts is a great incentive to keep people walking. If communities or sponsors purchase the trip package, each time a walker participates in a WALK MICHIGAN! event, they sign a registration card and have the chance to win the trip to Mackinac Island. The WALK MICHIGAN! package can be purchased as a travel program for individuals. The Labor Day Bridge Walk package is a four-day/three night stay on Mackinac Island at the beautiful Mission Point Resort beginning Friday evening and culminating in the bridge walk and brunch on Monday morning.
