Youth Symposium

Are you interested in providing a higher quality of life for teenagers in your area?

Youth and Teen Councils allow high school and middle school students a chance to make an impact on the neighborhoods they live in, create more opportunities for themselves, and become more active members of their communities. The Michigan Youth Symposium provides a forum for education and discussion on this topic, as well as a chance for youth and adults to interact.

The 9th Annual Michigan Youth Symposium will be held on March 26 – 28, 2010 in Taylor.

The Michigan Recreation and Park Association is proud to offer you a chance to network with City Administrators, Council Members, Mayors and Officials, Park & Recreation Professionals, Coalitions Members and Youth. Educational sessions will be run by both professionals and teens from various communities across Michigan.

Communities throughout the nation are discussing the necessity of providing more programs and opportunities for teens. Many of these communities are forming Youth/Teen Councils and Boards to help provide much needed information and support for these programs. In order to provide needed and desired programs for teens, we need to involve them in the decision-making process and give them a sense of ownership over the programs they generate.

Don’t let your community be left behind. Together we can provide better opportunities for our youth.
