Walk Michigan/Walking Works!

Walk Michigan/Walking Works is a free fun and pleasurable walking program that was created in 1985 by the Michigan Recreation and Park Association and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. In 2008, Blue Cross Blue Shield’s “Walking Works” program has partnered with Walk Michigan to increase the outreach possibilities and encourage fitness opportunities for active Michiganians to enjoy their recreation and park facilities while also improving their health and physical fitness.

Now Accepting 2008 Therapeutic Recreation Award Nominations!
The time has come to nominate a hospital, agency, or department for innovation and breadth of service in TR program development. This award is given to acknowledge accomplishments and/or consistently high standards in the clinical or community settings.

2008 NRPA Congress Housing Information
The National Recreation and Park Association Congress & Exposition will be held in Baltimore, Maryland from October 14-18, 2008. This year the Michigan block of rooms is at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor Hotel. Enclosed is a Housing Request Form for the Hotel.
